| Meredith has worked with the Southwestern Area Health Education Center (SW AHEC)
as its Executive Director since its inception in the spring of 1998. She received her BS in
Physical Therapy from New York University, and her MS in Health Sciences with a
concentration in Education from the School of Allied Health Professions at SUNY at
Stony Brook. She has practiced in many areas of Physical Therapy, specializing in Hand
Therapy.
She as taught as an adjunct professor at NYU, served as a clinical assistant
professor at Stony Brook, assistant professor at Touro College, and at Housatonic
Community College. She has published and researched on various topics in Hand
Rehabilitation, and has given numerous presentations on various topics in Physical and
Hand Therapy, including issues in clinical practice.
Meredith currently serves on the following community organizations and Boards:
• Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition (BCAC), Health Task Force
• Bridgeport Oral Health Initiative (ORBIT)
• Advisory Council of Warren Harding Health Magnet High School
• Board of Directors of The Multicultural Leadership Institute
• Primary Care Action Group, Bridgeport, CT
• Urban Service Track Advisory Committee, CT AHEC Program, University of
Connecticut School of Medicine
She is a member of the CT Public Health Association, the American Public Health
Association, APTA, CT Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the American Society
of Hand Therapists (ASHT).
In the past she has served on the national Board of Directors of the American Society of
Hand Therapists, the Hand Therapy Certification Commissions, and served as Treasurer
of the Hand Rehabilitation Section of the APTA.
As the Executive Director of the Southwestern Area Health Education Center Meredith
oversees and participates in numerous community and academic based projects
throughout the SW AHEC region, which includes southern Fairfield and New Haven
counties in CT.
