Description
The Southwestern AHEC Health Careers Mentoring program was developed to increase the success of students from underserved areas who will later matriculate in degree-granting programs. This program seeks to provide a framework wherein high school students can receive assistance towards achieving their personal goals and career development in working with college students. It is designed to promote academic achievement, enhance communication skills, and provide a clear path for reaching education and career goals. High school participants are matched with undergraduate and/or graduate student mentors who offer guidance and direction in order to meet individual aspirations.
