The purpose of this conference was to:

1. Provide a forum for the state's policy makers, key stakeholders and consumers to learn about critical oral health issues from a variety of perspectives;

2. Engage the state in a state-specific response to the “call for action” articulated in Oral Health in America, and

3. Respond and provide input for the initiation of a draft Connecticut Oral Health Plan.

The ultimate goal as a result of this conference was to aim for the beginning of developing a “Blue Ribbon Commission” on Oral Health in Connecticut from the grassroots input gathered at this conference. This “Blue Ribbon Commission” developed the essential recommendations of a statewide Oral Health Plan for Connecticut.
